Terms and Conditions
Emmitech Services Repair Risks

Emmitech Services operates under UK consumer law, which includes the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This means we will always aim to provide services with reasonable care and skill, but it is important to acknowledge that electronic repairs carry inherent risks that may affect the outcome.
​
Electronic repairs are inherently unpredictable. Your device may be beyond repair or could become permanently damaged during the repair process, rendering it unusable. Circuit board components deteriorate over time, leading to failures without warning, especially on devices exposed to liquid damage where parts may short circuit, oxidize, corrode, or rust.
​
Repairs on devices with glued-on screens, like iPads, require prying the screen to access internal components. These screens are very delicate, and while we have extensive experience in handling them with care, there is always a small risk that the screen could crack or break during the process.
​
Features such as Touch ID or Face ID on Apple devices may fail during the repair process and become unusable. Although uncommon, this can happen depending on the device’s condition.
​
Laptops and all-in-one computers with integrated GPUs may fail unexpectedly, especially in older models such as the 2011 MacBooks or iMacs, as well as certain HP, Dell, and Toshiba devices that have known GPU issues.
​
Estimates
We charge a £25 diagnostic fee for all devices. This fee will be deducted from the final repair cost if the repair is successful.
​
While we aim to be as thorough as possible with all estimates, we cannot guarantee that they will be all-inclusive or final. Diagnosing every problem in a device can often be impossible until we start the work. Our estimates may change as we service your device. If we need to update the estimate, we will contact you as soon as possible for approval before proceeding further. All changes must be approved by you before we continue.
It is the customer’s responsibility to request an estimate. Upon receiving your device, we assume you want us to proceed with the repair attempt, and that you have done your due diligence to reach out for an estimate or quote beforehand.

Payment Options
In compliance with UK regulations, all payments must be made through bank transfer or cash. We do not accept card payments at this time. All invoices are due within 30 days of receipt. If payment is not received within this period, Emmitech Services reserves the right to recycle or sell your device to recover costs.

Limited Warranty
We offer a 60-day warranty on all repairs. If any issue from the original work order recurs within 60 days, we will perform the service again at no extra cost. All parts used in repairs are also covered for 60 days. This warranty does not cover new issues that develop unrelated to the original repair.

*Warranty Exclusions
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Emmitech Services is not liable for damages that occur as a result of user negligence after the repair, nor for any issues that arise from tampering or further modifications by the customer.
​
We do not provide warranties on:
- Services using parts not purchased through Emmitech Services.
- Software issues, including operating system installations or virus removal.
- New problems unrelated to the original repair.
- Physical or electrical damage caused by user negligence, accidental drops, exposure to liquids, etc., during the warranty period.
​
Please note: Tampering with or damaging the device during the warranty period will void your warranty. This includes cracked screens, dents, internal damage, or attempts to open the device yourself.

Warranty Repairs
If your device malfunctions or fails within 60 days of repair, we will perform the repair again at no cost, provided it is related to the original work order. Refunds are not issued before an attempt to verify the claim. If your device qualifies for warranty repair, you are responsible for shipping it to us, and we will cover the return shipping.

Estimate and Repair Time
We aim for quick repairs, but various factors may affect the duration of your repair. Many repairs are completed within 1-48 hours, but no guarantees can be made regarding specific time frames.
​
Replacement Parts Procedure
If a service requires replacement parts, we will inform you before ordering. We will explain the parts needed, associated costs, and expected arrival times. If you prefer to hold onto your device until the parts arrive, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the part cost will be required.
​
Repair Attempt Fee
For devices involving motherboard repairs, data recovery, or previously attempted repairs, a repair attempt fee between £30 and £80 will be charged if the repair is unsuccessful or if the device had prior work done.

Data Security
In line with the Data Protection Act 2018, Emmitech Services takes reasonable steps to protect your data. However, we cannot guarantee complete data security. We advise customers to back up all data before repairs, as Emmitech Services will not be liable for data loss.

We cannot guarantee the security of your data. While we take precautions to protect your data, we recommend backing up all important files before bringing your device to us. We offer data backup services at an additional cost.
​
Pickup and Storage Policy
In accordance with UK law, unclaimed devices after 60 days will be considered abandoned, and Emmitech Services reserves the right to sell or recycle them to cover costs. Extended storage can be arranged for a fee of £30 per month.
Free collection and delivery are available only to customers within our service area.
We will store devices for up to 60 days after notifying you that the device is ready for pickup. If we do not hear from you within 60 days, we reserve the right to recycle or sell the device to recover service costs. Arrangements for extended storage can be made at £30 per month.
